Terms of Service

1. About these Terms

These Terms govern your use of Little Canvas Tales (the "Service"), a mobile app operated by MKLabs (엠케이랩), represented by Minkyung Ha ("we"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. See also our Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use the Service

The Service is for adults (age 19+ in Korea, or the age of majority where you live) — parents and guardians, not for children. You sign in with a code sent to your email address. Keep your account secure and do not share it. You receive 1 free credit on sign-up, usable for 90 days; creating multiple accounts to collect free credits is not allowed.

3. What the Service does

You upload a drawing and choose a theme, age range and language. The Service uses generative AI to create a short Korean/English story with 6 illustrations and saves it in "My Stories". Creating a story usually takes a few minutes and may occasionally fail or be delayed because of third-party AI or cloud services. We may update, improve or change features and prices, and will give notice of material changes.

4. Credits and payments

• One story (6 illustrations) uses 1 credit. Credits are bought through in-app purchase on the Apple App Store or Google Play; prices and amounts are shown at purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown and grant a set number of credits. They continue until you cancel in your store's subscription settings. Deleting your account in the app does not cancel a store subscription.
• Payment details are handled by Apple/Google; we never receive card numbers. Store policies also apply to billing and refunds.
• Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Paid credits are valid for 5 years from purchase. The free sign-up credit is valid for 90 days from sign-up and expires afterwards; free credit is used first. Your balance and the free credit's expiry date are shown in the app's Settings.
• If a story fails to generate, the credit is returned automatically. Credits for completed stories are not returned just because you dislike the result, but contact us if a result is seriously defective and we may return the credit.

5. Refunds and withdrawal

Where required by Korean consumer law, you may cancel a purchase within 7 days if you have not used any of the credits. Credits already used (a story generation has started) cannot be withdrawn because delivery of the digital content has begun; we tell you this before purchase. Refunds are generally processed through the store you paid with (Apple "Report a Problem", Google Play refund request), or you can contact us. Nothing here limits refunds required by law, for example where the Service was unavailable because of our fault. To stop a subscription from renewing, cancel it in your store before the next renewal date.

6. Acceptable use

Do not upload: photos of faces, real names, contact details or other identifiable personal information of others; violent, sexual, hateful or exploitative content, or anything unlawful; drawings or images that infringe someone else's copyright, trademark or likeness rights. Do not abuse the Service (automated bulk requests, interfering with security, extracting source code), cheat the payment system, or use results to deceive or harass others. We may warn you, remove content, restrict use or terminate the account for violations.

7. Content and results

• You keep the rights to the drawings you upload, and you confirm that you have the right to upload and have them processed by AI (including, as a parent or guardian, your child's drawing).
• You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to store and process your content only as needed to provide the Service, including sending it to our AI provider. We do not use your drawings or stories for advertising, marketing, or to train our own AI models.
• Results are generated by AI: they may be inaccurate, may differ from your drawing and may resemble results made for others. In some countries AI-generated material may not be protected by copyright; we make no promises about this.
• We claim no ownership of your results. You may use them for personal purposes and for commercial purposes (for example publishing, monetizing videos, selling), on these conditions: (a) the underlying drawing was made by you or your child, or you have the right to use it; (b) you may not resell the Service itself or use results to build a competing service; (c) you are responsible for checking that results do not infringe third-party rights (copyright, trademarks, likeness) — we do not guarantee this.
• We do not add an "AI-generated" mark to result images; the app shows a notice that stories are AI-generated. If a platform (for example YouTube) or law requires you to label or disclose AI-generated content, you are responsible for doing so.
• The app, design, logo and software belong to us.
• If a result is inappropriate or has a problem, you can report it with "Report" on the story screen. We review reports and take appropriate action (for example returning credits, removing results, or improving the generator). Please do not put personal details in a report.

8. Ending your use

You can delete your account any time in Settings > Delete account, and delete individual stories from My Stories. Deleting removes your account, drawings and stories and cannot be undone. Purchase records are kept without identifying you for the period required by law. On deletion, any remaining free credits expire; for remaining paid credits, request a refund before deleting, otherwise they expire . We may restrict or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided as is. We are not responsible for failures caused by events outside our control (natural disasters, outages of telecom, cloud, AI or app-store services). We do not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of AI results; you are responsible for how you use them, unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law, including liability for our intent or gross negligence.

10. Changes, governing law and contact

We will give at least 7 days' notice of changes to these Terms (30 days for changes that are unfavorable to you or material), in the app or by email; continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept them. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea; disputes will be handled by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act, and consumers may also use dispute mediation bodies such as the Korea Consumer Agency.
